ELIZABETH SWALLOW FROM BERKSHIRE WINS US COLLEGE TOURNAMENT
Elizabeth Swallow from Berkshire, a sophomore student at King University in Bristol,Tennessee, won the Tuscullum Women's Classic college tournament over 36 holes at Links Hill Country Club, Greenville, Tennessee.
Elizabeth, pictured, was lying joint sixth in a field of 65 players after an opening round of 76 over the par-72, 5805yd course but a second round of 71 for a total of 147 gave her victory by two strokes from Ashlii Thompson (UNC Pembroke) who had rounds of 76 and 76.
Elizabeth is one of two English golf-playing students at King University. The other is Samantha Taylor from Newcastle. A freshman, Samantha did not play in the Tuscullum Women's Classic.
MAISY TURNER FIFTH IN NEBRASKA
Maisy Turner from Norfolk, a freshman student at Iowa Western University, finished fifth in the Nebraska Wesleyan University Fall Invitational at Lincoln, Nebraska.
Maisy had a pair of 77s for 154, 10 shots more than team-mate Joana Yanex from Barcelona, the winner of the individual title/
