IRISHMAN PAUL DUNNE SCORES FIRST WIN ON US COLLEGE CIRCUIT


Irish golfer Paul Dunne from Greystones, a third-year student at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, has scored his first win on the US college golf circuit.
He shot a four-under-par total of 209, with scores of 69, 69 and 71 over a par-71 course of 6,862yd to win the Georgetown Intercollegiate tournament at Members Club at Four Streams, Beallsville, Maryland by  two shots.
Later Dunne was name the Conference USA player of the week for the third time in his 2 1/2 years in the States.
The UAB head coach said Dunne deserved his success because he has worked very hard to achieve it.
Alabama-Birmingham, who had all five team members finish in the leading 10, won the team tile by 22 shots from runners-up Notre Dame with Penn State third in a field of 11 teams.

DALGLEISH 25th IN NCCAA CHAMPIONSHIP
Anglo-Scot Alasdair Dalgleish from Hertfordshire, a student at Oklahoma Christian University, finished 25th in the NCCAA Men's Championship at Hombre Golf Club, Panama City in Florida.
Dalgleish scored 74, 72 and 77 for seven-over-par 223 over a par-72 course of 6,533yd.
Winner by two strokes was Zach Moore (Southern Wesleyan) with a five-under-par total of 211 (67-69-75).
