SALLY WATSON FINISHED FOURTH IN SUNCOAST SERIES EVENT IN FLORIDA

Former Curtis Cup player Sally Watson, now a rookie tour pro, earned $900 for a fourth place finish in the Suncoast Series lady pro tour 54-hole event at Orange Tree Country Club, Florida earlier this month.
EDITOR'S NOTE: We missed the tournament at the time but better late than ignore it completely!
Sally, pictured, originally from South Queensferry, Edinburgh but whose parents now live at Elie, Fife, had rounds of 73, 72 and 74 for a three-over-par total of 219.
Watson was heading for a second-place finish behind American winner Karlin Beck (70-71-72 for three-under 213) until, having birdied the 13th and 14th, she bogeyed two of the last three holes, the 16th and 18th for a 74.
Beck won the $2,500 first prize ahead of joint runners-up, Sweden's Maria Hjorth, a graduated of Stirling University, and Emily Flanagan (USA).
Maria had rounds of 77 70 and 72, Emily 77, 70 and 71. They each won $1,150.
England's Katie Mundy finished down the field of 47 players with scores of 77, 78 and 73 for 228.
