SAMMY FULLER IS GROWING UP FAST - REMEMBER THE NAME

Look out for Sammy Fuller. From the age of two Fuller has shown exceptional co-ordination as a golfer and, now 14, she is emerging as a force on the fairways and greens

Recently Fuller was the youngest player selected in the Great Britain under-16 squad and the youngest to represent England at under-18 level in the home internationals. Even as a tot she could hit a ball about 140 yards. Tiger Woods began his career when he was two, while Michelle Wie took up her clubs at four.
Fuller trains at Dukes Meadows, Chiswick, and is part of the elite golf academy there. She left Holy Cross School in New Malden after the last school year and will now be home schooled.
Sammy’s father, Ashley Fuller, told The Daily Telegraph: “We knew from a very early age that Sammy would excel in most sports she takes up. It is great that she has carried on with golf, the support of Dukes Meadows Golf Academy has been pivotal to her development and has helped her find the right balance between golf and school commitments.”
Fuller is now the most successful golfer of all time for her age group, with those in the know predicting that she will emerge as a major name in women’s golf.
Already seventh in the English Ladies Order of Merit – third at under-18 – at just 14, this is quite an achievement, her progress being overseen by Van Phillips, a former winner on the European Tour.
Fuller has collected accolades across the world, including being a six-time winner of the Florida International Championship which is a record for the tournament. This year, her class has started to tell.
Fuller has had three top-10 finishes in major amateur championships, including the Irish, Welsh and English championships, and won her first European ranking tournament. She has also represented and played at the county week for juniors when she was 11 and played for Surrey ladies at 13, both of which were winning teams. One to watch – remember the name.
