WILMINGTON, North Carolina. - The University of Alabama women's golf team carded a 2-over-par 290 and senior Stephanie Meadow, pictured below, made the first ace of her career in the second round of The Landfall Tradition Saturday on the par-72 6,244-yard Country Club of Landfall.
The Crimson Tide enter Sunday's final round at 1-under 575 with Duke eight shots back at 7-over 583. Clemson moved into third place at 22-over 598 while South Carolina is fourth at 599 and Arizona rounds out the top five at 30-oiver 606.
Meadow's hole-in-one came on the 146-yard 13th hole was the Jordanstown, Northern Ireland player's first in competition. It was the first ace by an Alabama player since Courtney Harter's in the second round of the 2009 NCAA Championships.
Meadow finished her second round at 1-under 71, two shots ahead of Duke's Yu Liu and Clemson's Ashlan Ramsey.
Junior Daniela Lendl moved into the top 10, alone in sixth, after firing a 1-under 71 on Saturday. She is 1-over for the tournament. Sophomore Emma Talley shot 73 in round two and is tied for fourth at even-par 144.
Hannah Collier is the Tide's fourth player in the top 10, tying for seventh heading into the final round at 2-over 146.
Sophomore Janie Jackson is just outside the top 10 in a tie for 13th at 5-over 149 after shooting 76 on Saturday. Cammie Gray, playing as an individual shot 80.
Alabama, Duke and Clemson will be the first groups off in a shotgun start on Sunday beginning at 7:45 a.m. (CDT).
