NEWS RELEASE FROM
THE SLGA
Karin
Sharp, a Fife county player, has been appointed to a new position of Finance

The

was “really looking forward to a new challenge.”
Having
taken up the game at just eight years old, the three handicapper is a seven
times club champion at Kirkcaldy Golf Club and currently serves as its jjunior convener.
“We
have six girls in an active junior membership of around 50 kids and I have
always had a real interest in trying to encourage youngsters into golf,” she
said. “I took voluntary redundancy from RBS around 18 months ago and then spent the 2012 summer playing a little more golf. Last year, I took up a part-time post with Fife Council and was looking for something interesting and challenging when the SLGA post came up.
“My
primary role is the day to day Management of the office and staff, with
responsibility for a number of functions including input to business planning,
financial management, budgeting, sponsorship and marketing. Participation in
Ladies golf through all age groups is something I am keen to promote.”
Beth
Paterson, Chairman of the SLGA, welcomed Sharp to the governing body.
“We
are delighted that Karin is joining us. Karin comes with a wealth of business
experience and combined with her passion for the game, will be a real asset to
the team.”
