EAST LOTHIAN COUNTY LGA AGM AND PRIZEGIVING

East Lothian County Ladies Golf Association held its AGM and prizegiving last night. An enjoyable evening was had by all with drinks and finger buffet. Thanks to all who attended and congratulations to all the prize winners.




PICTURE 1 is of East Lothian Members who have come placed or won tournaments beyond county level at Divisional/Regional/National level.


We asked them to bring their trophies to the agm for recognition of their acheivements.

Mary Lou Watkins who partnered Hazel Saunders (not present) in the Scottish Ladies Foursomes at Kirriemuir GC. The Gullane Ladies GC pairing had the 2nd best scratch score of the day and were also awarded the “Dunfermline Building Society Trophy” for the best scratch as the pairing with the best scratch score on the day were not from the same club and could therefore not win the trophy.


Georgene Parsons who partnered Ingrid Elgsaas (not present) in the SLGA Commonwealth Spoons Finals at Fortrose and Rosemarkie GC. The pairing from Gifford GC had a table topping score of 74.5 to win the spoons.


Clara Young, partnered by Lesley Atkins and Hilary Wardell (neither present), won The McNeill Trophy in the Scottish Ladies (Close) Amateur Championship at Longniddry GC.  This trophy is awarded to the County team returning the lowest aggregate gross scores for the qualifying rounds.  
Clara is also holding The Beddows Salver which she won for reaching the final and being runner up of the Scottish Ladies (Close) Amateur Championship.


Charlotte Munro  from Gullane Ladies GC, won the East of Scotland Girls Order of Merit for 2013.

Lauren Lee, from The Musselburgh GC, played in the East Division Regional Medal Finals at Kirkcaldy GC in June and qualified through to the finals with the best silver division score of the day 72. She then competed in the finals in August at King James VI GC and won 3rd handicap.

Joanne Free from Gullane Ladies GC, became East of Scotland Girls Champion in July at Braehead GC, after a 19 hole final. Joanne was also crowned the Stephen Gallacher Foundation Scratch and Handicap orders of merit winner for 2013.
