NEWS RELEASE FROM THE LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR

The next edition of the Lalla Aicha Qualifying School is getting closer and will start in one week at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam Golf Club. This will be the next stop to all players wishing to win the right to play on the Ladies European Tour in 2014.

The Robert Trent Jones-designed Royal Dar Es Salam in Rabat, which hosted the Moroccan Open four times and the Hassan II Golf Trophy from 1971-2010, will host these three Pre-Qualifiers between November 28 and December 8.

Once the entry period  had finalised, the Ladies European Tour received a total of 206 submissions from approximately 40 different nationalities and all the five continents, majority of them were from England and Sweden. Regarding the nationalities, we have again players from exotic countries such as Latvia, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Nigeria, Namibia and Malaysia. Among the players, there are over 100 non-member including over 35 amateurs, which means plenty of new faces and future stars that the tour is looking forward to see in action.

Among the amateurs, we find recent Ping Junior Solheim Cup Team members Germany’s Karolin  Lampert, 30^th on World Amateur Rankings, and Amber Ratcliffe, from England, 111^th on World Amateur Rankings.

Entrants have already selected their three pre-qualifiers to compete, so the total number of players on each stage is as follows:

Pre-Qualifier A - Royal Golf Dar Es Salam Red Course, 28^th November – 1^st December 2013, with total of 48 players.
Pre-Qualifier B - Royal Golf Dar Es Salam Red Course, 5^th – 8^th December 2013, total of 69 players 
Pre-Qualifier C - Royal Golf Dar Es Salam Blue Course, 5^th – 8^th December, total of 54 players.

A percentage of the field from each Pre-Qualifier will progress to the Final Qualifier, to be held over the Samanah and Al Maaden courses in Marrakech from December 14 to 18.
The top 30 and ties will be offered category 8a membership, securing playing privileges to the majority of tournaments on the 2014 Ladies European Tour.
