SAMMY FULLER SHOOTS A 71, FIONA LIDDELL A 75 IN SECOND ROUND OF JUNIOR ORANGE BOWL
Fiona Liddell, the only Scot in the international fields for the boys and girls' Junior Orange Bowl golf championships at Biltmore Golf Club, Coral Gables, Florida, is trailing 13 shots behind the leaders at the halfway stage of the 72-hole event.
Fiona, daughter of Germany-based, Falkirk-born Stephen Liddell, a club pro in Germany, has had rounds of 78 and 75 for a 36-hole tally of 11-over-par 153 over par-71 course of some 6,100yd.
Winner of the Junior Honda Classic girls' title elsewhere in Florida in the build-up to the Junior Orange Bowl, Fiona had four three-putts in her second-round 75.
"Great pity because she was striking the ball well," said her dad.
Canada's Brooke Henderson (68-72) and South Korean Soyoung Lee (66-74) lead on two-under 140.
England's representative, Samantha (Sammy) Fuller from Kingston, like Liddell a Junior Vagliano Trophy team player for GB and I at Chantilly last June, shot one of the day's best rounds, a par 71, for 151, improving by 11 shots on her opening effort.
