Arkansas sophomore Taylor Moore won the inaugural Saguaro Amateur at Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariona after a final-round, one-under 70 to finish at 12-under 201 on Sunday.
“It means a lot to win this event especially with it being the first year,” said Moore in an Arkansas press release.
“The putter was working for me this week and last week. I had just one three-putt over the two tournaments and I also managed my game really well and controlled the ball going into the greens. "This definitely gives me some confidence, but is just a step in the right direction in a spring full of hard work.”
Over the 54 holes, Moore carded 38 pars, 14 birdies and just two bogeys.
UNLV’s A.J. McInerney and Washington’s Trevor Simsby finished joint second at 9-under 204. In a tie for fourth was Arizona State’s Grayson Murray – who lead after the first round – at 6 under.
