FOURTH WIN IN USA FOR ALISON
KNOWLES FROM SOUTH YORKSHIRE

Broussard, Louisiana -- The University of Louisiana-Monroe women’s golf team teed off their spring season with a win in both team and individual
competition of the LeTriomphe College Invitational, hosted by McNeese
State.
The results following the second round of the tournament became the final results after the third round of play was cancelled due to weather.
The Warhawks finished atop the leaderboard of an impressive 18-team field that featured fellow Sun Belt teams Arkansas State and South Alabama, while ULM’s Alison Knowles (second-year student from Mexborough, South Yorkshire) concluded the tournament with a win in individual competition, finishing ahead of 93 other competitors with steady rounds of 70-71 for 141.
It was Alison's fourth win on the US women's college circuit.
Head coach Stacy Snider said:
“It was great to start off the spring season the way we ended the fall, with a win. The girls played very steady considering the cold conditions yesterday.
“Alison took home medalist for the fourth time, again finishing under par. She is obviously our rock but everyone contributed to this victory.”
Alison Knowles spreadeagle the field with her effort over the par-72, 6,226yd course.
She won by three shots from Charlotte Jaengkit (Grand Canyon) (71-73) and finished eight shots ahead of the third-placed Paige Nelson (Sam Houston State) (72-77).
Other British girls in the field were:
Dolores Brown (McNeese State), a freshman from Kent. She finished T29 on 157 with rounds of 77-80.
Abigail Laker (Arkansas State), a sophomore from Oxfordshire. She finished T38 on 159 with rounds of 81 and 78.
Holly Robinson (Alabama-Birmingham), a junior year student from Sligo, Northern Ireland. She finished T81 on 172 with rounds of 89-93.
