ROUND TO PLAY AT AMELIA ISLAND

English students - all four in the leading 14 -  are doing well in the JU Amelia Island Collegiate 54-hole tournament at Amelia National Golf Club, Fernandina Beach, Florida.

Florida International's Sophie Godley, a sophomore from Notts, and Meghan MacLaren, a sophomore from Wellingborough, Cambridge, are lying third and fourth after the first two rounds.
Sophie, pictured right, who has had some good scores this college season, was six under par for eight consecutive holes in a first-round 67 and she has followed that up with a one-under 71 over a 6,029 (par 72) course.
Godley has a total bag of one eagle and eight birdies so far.

Curtis Cup team place contender Meghan MacLaren, pictured left, winner of the Irish open amateur stroke-play title last May, has had nine birdies so far in compiling rounds of 69 and 71 for 140.
Meghan commented:
"It could have been a lot lower but very happy to shoot under par again. I felt my strategy and course management were very good.
"Played well in the morning round and got up and down pretty much every time I needed to. Could have been three shots better over last three holes though, so a bit frustrating.
"Probably played even better in the afternoon. So  many good iron shots but just couldn't make the putts. Had lots of chances. Excited for tomorrows final round."

Dulcie Sverdloff (Kennesaw State), pictured right, a freshman from Southend, is in sixth place on 142 after scores of 73 and 69, the latter score include a double bogey 6 at the fifth.Nicola Haynes (James Madison University), pictured below, a freshman from Newcastle, slipped
down to T14 on 147 after adding a 77 to an opening 70. Nicola had a double bogey 7 at the 11th and then bogeyed the 12th, 15th and 18th for an inward half of 40.
Florida International would seem to have a lock on the destination of the team title. They lead by 13 shots from Kennesaw State with third-placed Jacksonville another 12 shots behind Kennesaw State in a field of 14 teams.
