IT AIN'T HALF HOT, MUM IN AUSTRALIA - 36+ degrees!

Thanks
for including Chloé's New South Wales amateur stroke-play championship scores on Kirkwoodgolf.
It was a bit of
a mix of a week in terms of performance with four over, 11 over, one under
and seven-over-par rounds!
Interesting how the weather plays a big part. Even after two years in Australia, Chloé still finds some days too hot and humid.
Tee times
on Rounds 1 and 3 were early and Rounds 2 and 4 were teeing off at
11.30/11.45 - with temps reaching 36+.
It is impossible to take on
enough liquid some days and I guess that is something you either cope
with or have to learn to deal with.
With 36 holes on the last day, she
struggled more with the heat than the course - but all good experience
and certainly not something she would have had to deal with from the UK!
Also
thought I should clarify that we are not here permanently. It is just a four-year stint and then we plan to come back to the UK. So whilst we are
enjoying our time here, we have not emigrated, just on a four-year 'visit'.
And Chloé is still, and I am sure, always will be, a member of St
Regulus Ladies Club in St Andrews.
We retained her membership when we
came out here and she still plays in club medals when we come home for
visits. 2014 will be a year for Chloé to focus mainly on school, as it
is her final year. Then in 2015, she hopes to go back to Scotland to
play in the Scottish and British national competitions before heading to
Uni, either in the US or in the UK.
Australian Uni systems are not set
up to incorporate high level golf so she won't be thinking of staying in
Australia for University.
Kind regards,
Sharon Goadby
