MAKING THE CASE FOR WHAT'S ON OFFER IN US FOR STUDENT GOLFERS

St Andrews University compares favourably

with  opposite numbers in United States

FROM DAVID WATT
Just writing in regard to the article published on Kirkwood Golf (scroll down to Thursday's articles) about Alison Knowles and the difference between the US College system and here in the UK.
I have a lot of experience here as the Head Coach at the University of St Andrews (also Senior Instructor for the Links Trust) and having spent quite a bit of time with my squad out in the US. Whilst her father makes a lot of valid comments, it should be pointed out that there are some excellent opportunities at select institutions here in the UK for a student to take their golf as far as they would in the States.
I would appreciate if you could highlight the golf programme here at the University of St Andrews, as I know it sits on a par in terms of facilities and opportunities with anywhere else in the world.
Our website is www.saintsgolf.co.uk – anybody interested in what we do can contact me through the website.
