SCOT WARMS UP IN FLORIDA FOR EUROPEAN CAMPAIGN
SALLY WATSON'S DOUBLE BOGEY WRECKS
FIRST-ROUND CARD AT KISSIMMEE
Former Curtis Cup player Sally Watson, originally from South Queensferry but whose family home is now at Elie in Fife, shot a three-over-par 71 in the first round of this week's Suncoast women's pro tour at Kissimmee Bay Golf Club, near Orlando.
Sally, pictured, who earned full playing rights on the 2014 Ladies European Tour at the Q School in Morocco, had only one birdie, at the seventh. The most costly holes for her were the first, 12th and 13th.
She bogeyed the par-5 opening hole, and the par-4 12th before running up a double bogey 5 at the short 13th.
She is lying joint 21st in a field of 33 players at this 54-hole event.
Leading the field at seven-under 64 is Jung Min Lee, two shots ahead of Song Yi Ahn and Kris Tamalis.
Sweden's former Stirling University student Maria Hjorth is lying third on 68.
