SLGA CONCENTRATING ON DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG PROSPECTS
SCOTTISH GIRLS SQUAD ENJOY WEEK'S
TRAINING AT DESERT SPRINGS, SPAIN
SLGA NEWS RELEASE
Charlotte Munro turned 14 last
month and she is the youngest member of a new, young Scottish Ladies’ Golfing
Association squad enjoying a week’s training with National Coach, Kevin Craggs,
at Desert Springs in Spain.
The Gullane member attends North Berwick High School and she is
following in some famous footsteps. Catriona Matthew, Scotland’s most
successful professional, is a former pupil and Clara Young, beaten finalist in
last season's Scottish Ladies’ Amateur Championship, is in her final year at
the school.
Troon Ladies have two players in the squad in Emma Hale and Hazel
Macgarvie and the other five selected are Emily Dalgetty (Glencorse), Shannon
McWilliam (Aboyne), Kirsty Brodie (Strathmore), Kirsten Brown (Strathaven) and
Claire Robertson (Carnoustie Ladies).
With a growing number of the top Scots heading to universities in
America, the SLGA is concentrating on the development of the promising young
players.
