US COLLEGE CIRCUIT NEWS

HAYLEY DAVIS NOW 4th IN CALIFORNIA

Dorset-born Hayley Davis, a student at Baylor University, Texas, has moved up to fourth place after two rounds of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge women's college tournament at Palos Verdes Golf Club, California.

Hayley, pictured left, has shot rounds of 71-70 for a one-under-par tally of 141 over the par-71, 6,017yd course.
She birdied the third, sixth, 12th and 18th but had offsetting bogeys at the fifth, eighth and ninth in her second round.
She is seven strokes behind the leader by five, Annie Park (Southern California) who has had a pair of 67s for eight-under 138.

Elizabeth Mallett (North Carolina), pictured right, from Sutton Coldfield is T29 on 149 after rounds of 73 and 76.
Another English-born player on the same mark is Charlotte Thomas (Washington) with scores of 74-75.
Former Scottish schoolgirls champion when she was a pupil at Loretto School, Musselburgh, Julie Yang, now a student at Oklahoma State is T41 on 150 with scores of 77 and 73.
There are 88 players in the field.
Southern California, not surprisingly with two players in the first three, are leading the team event by 14 shots from UCLA (581) with Duke (584) third and Baylor (585) meantime fourth in the field of 16 teams.
