OPELIKA – Jacksonville State junior (third-year) student Tomasz Anderson from Brocket Hall, Hertfordshire has achieved his fourth victory on the US college golf circuit.
Tomacz (pictured) won the Auburn Tiger Invitational at Lake Course at Grand National Golf Club, Alabama with a 10-under-par aggregate of 206 for three rounds over a 7,149yd (par 72) course
Anderson, who held second place on the individual list after 36 holes (67-69), surged to the top of the leaderboard with a final round score of 2-under par 70.
The Englishman held off Chad Ramey of Mississippi State, who had the low round of the final day, a 4-under par 68 for 207.
Anderson's final round scorecard had four birdies and three bogeys. Among the players he beat in a field of 81 players were four players ranked in the US college top 65 by Golfstat.com
Another Englishman on the JSU roster, freshman Jamie Mist from Hayling Island finished joint 28th on 223 with scores of 77, 74 and 72. The final par-matching effort was Mist's best so far in his first season, beating his earlier 73.
Two more Englishman in the field, South Alabama's Ryan Pope, a freshman from Devon, and Matt Sheehan, also a first-year student from Gillingham, Kent, finished on 230 and 235 respectively.
Pope had rounds of 75, 83 and 72 for 230 and a T52 placing while Sheehan scored 77, 77 and 81 for 235.
Jacksonville State (884) finished joint seventh behind clear-cut team title winners Auburn (842).
