HANDICAP LIMIT FOR AMATEUR ENTRIES REDUCED TO 2.4

USGA introduces international qualifiers for 

US Women's Open - Bucks is English venue

The USGA will introduce international qualifying for this year’s U.S. Women’s Open. 
Officials from the China Golf Association, Japan Golf Association, Korea Golf Association and Ladies European Tour will conduct international qualifying at four venues on May 19. 
The four courses to hold the qualifiers will be CGA Nanshan International Training Centre, Higashi Nagoya Country Club, Woo Jeong Hills and Buckinghamshire Golf Club, England
International players have won seven of the last nine majors, and 13 of the last 19. South Korean-born players have won five of the last six.
Also Monday, the USGA announced that the handicap limit for the U.S. Women’s Open has been reduced from 4.4 to 2.4.
The 2014 U.S. Women’s Open will be held June 19-22 at Pinehurst. 
#The USGA has still a bit to go to get on terms with the Ladies Golf Union's handicap limit of +0.5 for amateurs wishing to enter the Ricoh Women's British Open (July 10 to 13 at Royal Birkdale GC, Lancashire).
