JENNA BIRCH TOPS FIELD OF 90
AT PINEHURST, NORTH CAROLINA
Jenna Birch from Fleetwood, Lancashire, a third-year student at Armstrong Atlantic University, has scored another win on the United States women's college circuit.
In the Wingate Pinehurst Challenge (March 23-25)
at The National Club, Pinehurst, North Carolina, Jenna, pictured right, had rounds of 76-78 for 154 over the par-71 lay-ouf of 5,840yd - sounds as if it had been rough weather!
Armstrong Atlantic students also finished second and joint third, Kristen Sammarco (79-77 for 156) and Kiley Mettler (77-81) for 158.
Elizabeth Swallow, pictured left, from Berkshire, a sophomore student at King University, Bristol, Tennessee, finished seventh in a field of 90 players.
She scored 81-80 for 161.
Armstrong Atlantic (638), not surprisingly, ran away with the team title from runners-up Lee Univesity (665). King (703) finished 10th in a field of 18 teams.
JESSICA BRADLEY 4th of 88 AT PLANTATION INN
Jessica Bradley from North Devon, a third-year student at Lynn University, Boca Raton, Florida, finished fourth in a field of 88 at the Plantation Inn Collegiate Invitational at Plantation Inn Golf Club, Crystal River, Florida (March 21-23).
Jessica, pictured, had steady scores of 73-72-74 for a three-over-par total of 219 over a par-72 course of 6,054yd.
She finished eight shots behind the winner by five, Jessica Welch (Jacksonville) (75-70-66 for 211).
Jacksonville (887) also won the team title from runners-up Lynn (894) in a field of 14 teams.
JENNIFER, ALICE MAKE TOP 20 AT
HILTON HEAD, SOUTH CAROLINA
Two Bethune Cookman University students from England have achieved top 20 finishes in the Low Country Intercollegiate tournament at Moss Creek Plantation, Hilton Head, South Carolina (March 23-24).
Jennifer Hide, pictured right, a third-year student from Norfolk, finished T11 on 161 (80-81) while Alice Plumb, a freshman from Somerset, finished T19 on 164 (78-86).
Alice is pictured below. The individual winner by a two -stroke margin was Kristin Swindell (West Carolina) with rounds of 75 and 76 for 151.
Bethune Cookman (647) finished fourth of 10 in the team event won by Samford University
