NAMED SUN BELT GOLFERS OF MONTH
MONROE, Louisiana -- ULM’s Calum Hill from Scotland and England's Alison Knowles have been named the Sun Belt Men’s and Women’s Golfer of the Month.
This is the second consecutive time this season that a pair of Warhawks has received the honours.
Calum Hill, who has played in six tournaments so far this season, is averaging a score of 74.18 and is ranked 15th in the Sun Belt through 17 rounds of play. This is the second consecutive time this season that a pair of Warhawks has received the honours.
The freshman from Edinburgh, carded a four-under 68 in the third round of the Wyoming Cowboy Desert Intercollegiate and helped lead the team to an 11th place finish in a very strong 23-team field.
In the Argent Financial Classic, out of an individual leaderboard that featured 73 golfers, Hill finished in a tie for sixth place after recording a 2-over 146.
Alison Knowles started out the spring with her fourth win in individual competition after carding a three-under 141 in the LeTriomphe College Invitational; it was also the fourth win this season for the Warhawks in team competition.
Knowles, a sophomore from Mexborough, Yorkshire, led ULM in the USA Women’s Invitational with a 10-over 226 and an 11th place finish.
This is the fourth time that Knowles, who leads Sun Belt women’s golf with a 72.06 average, has received the Sun Belt honour this 2013-2014 college golf season.
