MORE NEWS FROM THE USA MEN'S COLLEGE CIRCUIT

ROSS EARNSHAW MAKES 

TOP TEN AT RENDLEMAN

INVITATIONAL

Ross Earnshaw from York, a final-year student at Post University, Connecticut, finished joint seventh in a field of 89 players at the Richard Rendleman Invitational on March 3-4 at Country Club of Salisbury, North Carolina.
Ross, pictured right,  had scores of 73-74 for 147 over a par-71 course (6,665yd).
Cameron Buist from Stirlingshire, a freshman at Belmont Abbey College, made the top 20 with scores of 79-73 for 152 and a T18 placing.
Another Scot at Belmont Abbey, Dundee's Matthew Reid had scores of 83-76 for 159 and a joint 55th finish.
Joint winners on 142 were Alex Weare (Queens-Charlotte) (71-71) and Benedict Gebhardt (Wingate) (73-69)
Belmont Abby College (616) finished T7 and Post (663), last of 18, in the team event in which the honours were shared on 598 by Limestone College and UNC Pembroke.

ELLIS DOWN THE FIELD AT LAKE JOVITA

Harry Ellis from Southampton, a freshman at Florida State, finished T81 in a field of 90 players at the USF Invitational at Lake Jovita, Dade City in Florida.
Over a par-72 course of 7,153yd, Harry shot 78-75-72 for 225 - 25 strokes behind the winner by one, Florida State team-mate Jack Maguire (65-73-62 for 202).
Florida State (823) won the title from South Florida (833) in a field of 17 teams. 

Gareth Blease from Burhill, Surrey, a senior student at Michigan State, finished 52nd in a field of 54 at the Colleton River Collegiate at Colleton River Plantation, Bluffton in South Carolina.
Over a long par-72 course of 7,365yd, Gareth show 81, 91 and 78 for 250.
Join winners on 215 were Zach Seabolt (Winthrop) (74-69-72) and Charlie Netzel (Michigan State) (78-67-70) who finished three strokes ahead of the field.
Winthrop (874) pipped Kennesaw State (875) for the team title with Michigan State (876) a close-up third in a field of nine teams.
