NEWS FROM UNITED STATES WOMEN'S COLLEGE CIRCUIT

AT THE LSU TIGER CLASSIC

Alison Knowles, from Mexborough, South Yorkshire and a second-year student at Louisiana-Monroe, achieved the highest finish of the seven British students in action in the LSU Tiger Classic college tournament over 54 holes at University Club, Baton Rouge in Louisiana on March 21-22
Alison shot rounds of 79, 71 and 71 for a total fo five-over-par 221 and a joint eighth place finish in a field of 84 players.
Three players tied at the top of the leaderboard on three-under 213 - Gaby Lopez (Arkansas) (74-71-68), Sweden's Madelene Sagstrom (LSU) (72-72-69) and Ashley Holder (Central Florida) (73-70-70).
Brogan Townend (Texas-San Antonio) from Blackburn came joint 17th on 226 (79-73-74).
Hayley Davis (Baylor) from Wimborne, Dorset finished T25 on 228 with scores of 73, 75 and 80.
Aberdeen-born Gemma Dryburgh, a final-year student at Tulane University, New Orleans, shot 76-75-69 for 230 and a share of 33rd place.
Carnoustie's Jess Meek (Missouri) scored 79-80-75 for 234 and joint 48th place.
Past Helen Holm Trophy winner Olivia Winning, a freshman at Tulane, and Scotland internaional Rachael Watton, a third-year student at Denver,  both had rounds of 91, 80 and 81 for 252 and joint 76th place.
Arkansas (882) won the team title ahead of Central Florida (890) with Kentucky (899) third. Other placings: 907 Tulane (sixth), 913 Baylor (8th) and 915 Denver (9th). A total of 15 teams took par.
