NEWS FROM US COLLEGE GOLF CIRCUIT

NORTH BERWICK STUDENT THIRD 

AT SUGAR TREE, TEXAS


Chris Low, pictured, from North Berwick, a second-year student at McLennan College, Waco in Texas, finished third in a field of 57 players at the NJSAA District Preview tournament over 36 holes at Sugar Tree Golf Club, Dennis in Texas.
Over a par-70 course of 6,659yd, Chris shot 74-71 for 145 - four shots behind the winner, Jamie Warman (Odessa) (75-66 for 141).
Chris's team-mate Hunter Shattuck finished second on 143 (71-72)
McLennan (580) won the team title by 15 shots from Odessa with Western Texas (599) third and Midland (609) fourth in a field of nine teams. 

WEST SUSSEX STUDENT THIRD

AT BUFFALO DUNES, KANSAS


Ben Johnson (Bethany College, Kansas), a third-year student from West Sussex, finished third in a field of 92 players at the Central Region Crossover tournament over two rounds at Buffalo Dunes Golf Club, Garden City in the state of Kansas.
Over a par-72 course of 6,891yd, Ben, pictured above, had rounds of 68 and 73 for 142 - two shots behind the winner, Michael Lee (Colorado School of Mines) (67-72 for 139).
James Bolton (Newman University, Wichira) finished T12 on 146 (73-73). James is a sophomore student from Bury.
James Tisdale (Bethany) had scores of 70-79 for 149 and a T29 finish. James is a final-year student from Liverpool.
Bethany team-mate Greg Miller,  a second-year stuident from Livingston) finished T49 on 153 (74-79).
Newman student James Hornsby, a sophomore from Liverpool, finished T74 with 78-82 for 160.
Colorado School of Mines (573) won the team title.
Newman (591) tied for fifth place and Bethany (594) tied for seventh in a field of 16 teams.
