SCOT GREG MILLER FROM LIVINGSTON WELL TO THE FORE

The Bethany College, Kansas golf teams - nicknamed "The Swedes" - after their busy weekend

BETHANY COLLEGE WIN TWICE OVER

FOUR DAYS OF TOURNAMENT PLAY

The Bethany College men's golf team continued their strong play by winning the Bethel College Spring Invitational over the weekend.
Just a day after the Swedes came back to win the Swede Invite on Friday, Bethany went to work again, capturing their second straight tournament victory.

Bethany's first team was in first place after day one and conquered tough conditions on day two to win the tournament.
Ben Johnson, pictured right, a third-year student from West Sussex, led Bethany, shooting an opening round 67 and a second round 76 to go on to win the individual side of the tournament by six shots.
He bested team-mate James Tisdale, a final-year student from Liverpool.
Tisdale opened with a round of 71 and finished day two with a 78 for a total of 149.

Greg Miller, pictured right, a second-year student from Livingston, Scotland, finished fifth after shooting a 153 to have three Swedes (Bethany College players) in the top five for the second straight tournament.
The first team shot a 288 in their opening round and a 312 in round two to finish the tournament at an even 600 shots.
Bethany's second team also fared well finishing third overall at the tournament.
Matt O'Neill. a third-year student from Warrington,  finished tied for 33rd place. thirteenth Lewis Blair, a freshman from Leighton Buzzard, rounded out the Bethany's golfers. He shot 167 over two rounds and finished in 40th place.
"Our guys played really well the past four days. Most people won't understand how difficult it was to play well in some of the conditions they have faced lately, especially in today's wind," said Head Coach Jon Daniels.
"To finish that far ahead of the field was outstanding. Even the golf pro at the course noticed the scores we were turning in today and complimented our guys on their performance."
Bethany's two-day total of 600 shots was 39 shots better than Kansas City Community College who finished second.
The Swedes' second team finished one shot back of Kansas City C C with a total of 640. The tournament win was also the 85th tournament team win for coach Daniels.
 BETHANY COLLEGE ALSO WON THE

SWEDE SPRING INVITATIONAL
The Bethany College "Swedes" played tournament golf on four successive days, starting with the Swede Spring Invitational at Turkey Creek Golf Club, McPherson in Kansas on March 27-28.
Playing in two back-to-back tournaments with not a day between them is so rare that I have never heard of it ever happening before!
There was a triple tie for first place on the individual leaderboard (there may well have been a play-off to sort out the 1-2-3, but we have not yet tracked it down!)
The three players on five-over-par 145 were two Bethany boys - Ben Johnson, a junior from Sussex (76-67) and Lewis Blair, a freshman from Leighton Buzzard (73-70). The third player on 145 over the par-70 course of 6,388yd was Seth Bryan (Southwest College) with 73-70.
Other Bethany students' placings:
144 (tied fourth) Matt O'Neill (a junior from Warrington) 73-71
148 (11th) Greg Miller (a sophomore from Livingston) 78-70
150 (13th) James Tisdale (senior from Liverpool) (80-70).
There was a field of 52 players.
Bethany College (583) won the team title ahead of Southwestern (590) in a field of seven teams.
