RAIN-HIT EXETER COLLEGIATE

Scottish amateur champion Zander Culverwell, pictured below, a student at Stirling University, finished third in the Exeter Invitational Links Trophy collegiate golf tournament at Trevose Golf Club.

The planned three-round tournament was reduced to 27 holes because of flooding on the course.

Culverwell scored 73 for the completed round and 39 for the nine holes, giving him a total of 112, four shots behind the winner Chris Thursby (Central Lancashire) (69-39) who won by one stroke from team-mate Mark Duncalf (71-38).

Two of Culverwell's Stirling team-mates, Ollie Roberts and Dewi Merckx also totalled 112

but Culverwell was placed third with the better last nine holes.

Stirling (571) finished runners-up to Central Lancashire (571) with ISGA (574) third.

Hannah McCook (Stirling) finished second in the women's individual event with scores of 74 and 45 for a 119 total, two behind the winner, Chloe Howard (Devon) (75-42).

Stirling (250) finished runners-up to NUI Maynooth (241) in the women's team event.
