UPDATES FROM THE USA WOMEN'S COLLEGE TOURNAMENT CIRCUIT


JENNA BIRCH SECOND AT SAVANNAH

Jenna Birch from Fleetwood, Lancashire, a
third-year student at Armstrong Atlantic State University, finished second in her college's annual college tournament - the Armstrong Pirate Women's Invitational - at Savannah Quarters Golf Club, Pooler in Georgia.
Over a par-72 course of 5,878yd, Jenna, pictured above, shot 78-75 for 153, four shots behind her winning team-mate, Kilby Mettler (72-77). There as a field of 83 players.
Armstrong Atlantic also won the team event by four strokes from Flagler in a 16-team field. 

MEGAN MAKES TOP 10 ON KIAWAH

Megan Garland from Goole, Yorkshire, a second-year student at Arkansas State University, shot scores of 75-74-75 for a total of 224 to achieve joint eighth place in the Kiawah Island
Intercollegiate at Cougar Point, South Carolina.
Garland, pictured left, finished only four shots behind the joint winners on four-over-par 220, Wad Phaewchimplee (Kent State) (69-81-70) and Katia Joo (Boston College) (72-73-75).
It was one of the biggest fields of the season with 192 individual competitors and 36 teams taking part over the par-72 course of 6,001yd.
There were three other English students in the field.
Abigail Laker (Arkansas State) from Oxfordshire finished T14 on 225 with rounds of 74, 75 and 76.
Olivia Jay (Radford), a freshman from York, finished T90 with scores of 80, 82 and 77 for 239.
Paisley-born Kirsty Condon from Lincolsnhire, also a student at Radford University, shot 79-80-87 for 241 and joint 120th place.
Kent State (892) headed the massive team field, winning from Penn State (906) and High Point (907).
Arkansas State finished a creditable joint sixth with a total of 813.
Radford (959) finished 20th. 

DULCIE MAKES TOP 35 IN FIELD OF 95

AT HURRICANE INVITATIONAL 
Dulcie Sverdloff (Kennesaw State), a freshman from Southend, finished T35 in a field of 95 players at the Hurricame Invitational collegiate tournament over 54 holes at The Biltmore, Miami in Florida.

Over a par-71 course of 6,092yd, Dulcie, pictured right, scored 71, 78 and 75 for a total of 224 - 13 shots behind the joint winners, Daniela Darquea (Miami) (68-72-71) and Sasikarn On-lam (Iowa State) (69-69-73), on 221.
Jessica Gregory (Maryland), a sophomore student from Sittingbourne, finished T74 on 234 (81-78-75) and Nicola Haynes (James Madison University), a freshman from Newcastle, filled joint 87th place in a field of 95 with rounds of 80-84-78 for 242.
Northwestern (864) won the team title, only a shot ahead of Iowa State with Miami (874) third, Campbell (877) fourth and Kennesaw State fifth on 878 in a field of 17 teams. 

PHOEBA MAKES TOP THIRD IN BIG 

FIELD FOR RED ROCKS INVITATIONAL


Phoeba Cipa (Grand Canyon), a senior year student from Upminster, finished T33 in a field of 105 at the Red Rocks Invitational at Oakcreek Country Club, Sedona in Arizona.
Over a par-72 course of 6,089yd, Phoeba, pictured, had scores of 79 and 77 for 156, 15 shots behind the winner by one, Jacquie LeMarr (North Arizona (70-71 for three-under 141)
Xavier (588) won the team title comfortably from Northern Arizona and Sacramento State, both 602, with Grqand Canyon (604) fourth of 18 teams.
