Meghan MacLaren Named to Conference-USA
Women’s Golf All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas – Florida International University sophomore student Meghan MacLaren from Wellingborough, Cambridge, has been named to this year’s Conference USA Women’s Golf All-Academic Team.
Meghan, who was also named to this year’s C-USA Commissioner’s Honour Roll (cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better), has appeared in all nine tournaments for the Florida International Panthers, starting at the No. 1 position in the team. With a stroke average of 74.27, MacLaren has had three top 10 finishes and six top 25 finishes this US college golf season.
A winner three times in her freshman year, Meghan's best finish of the 2013-2014 season todate has been fourth at the Amelia Island Collegiate in February when she also shot a season-low round of 69 in the first round. MacLaren has shot even or under par six times this season and was named the C-USA Golfer of the Week on October 3 after finishing in fifth at the Golfweek Conference Challenge.

MEADOW AND MEEK MAKE TOP TEN
IN SEC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
Former British women's amateur champion Stephanie Meadow from Jordanstown, Northern Ireland and Carnoustie's Jess Meek finished T5 and T10 in a field of 70 players at the SEC Women's Championship at Greystone Golf and Country Club, Birmingham, Alabama over 54 holes from April 18 to 20.
Alabama student Stephanie, fourth in the Women's World Amateur Rankings, had rounds of 75, 71 and 73 for a total of 219.
University of Missouri freshman Jess shot 75, 73 and 74 for 222.
Winner by EIGHT strokes was Simin Feng (Vanderbilt) with score of 73, 70 and 66 for seven-under-par 209.
Vanderbilt (879) also won the team event from South Carolina (890), Arkansas (892) and Alabama (896) in a field of 14 teams.
Missouri, with no players capable of backing up Jess Meek's effort, finished T10 on 913.
ELIZABETH MALLETT'S TOP 10 FINISH
Elizabeth Mallett (North Carolina) and Maryland's Heidi Baek and Jessica Gregory finished T9, T41 and 48th respectively in a field of 55 players at the ACC Women's Championship at Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro, North Carolina in a three-round tournament from April 17 to 19.
Mallett, a second-year student from Sutton Coldfield, had rounds of 75, 72 and 74 for 221 -- 11 shots behind the winner by five, France's Celine Boutier (Duke University) (71-69-70 for three-under 210, with team-mate Letitia Beck second with 72-75-68).
Baek, a second-year student from Suffordl,, had rounds of 76, 80 and 79 for 235, four shots better than team-mate Jessica Gregory, a sophomore from Sittingbourne. Jessica scored 81, 79 and 79 for 239.
Duke (862) won the team title by a commanding margin from Virginia (889) and North Carolina State (890) with North Carolina (896) fourth ad Maryland (921) T9 of 11 teams.
JENNA BIRCH T10 IN RAIN-HIT PEACH BELT
Fleetwood's Jenna Birch, a third-year student at Armstrong Atlantic State University, shot a 78 to finish T10 in a field of 88 for the rain-shortened Peach Belt Conference Championship at Callwaway Gardens, Lake View, Pine Mountain in Georgia on April 18-19.
Heavy rain washed out the first day's play.
Jenna finished four shots behind the three players who headed the field with 74s: Laura Bird and Ashlii Thompson (UNC-Pembroke) and Joanna Yoo (Flagler College). Yook won a play-off for the individual title.
UNC-Pembroke (306) won the team title ahead of Montevallo (311) with Armstrong Atlantic fifth of eight on 320.
DOLORES DOWN THE FIELD IN TEXAS
Dolores Brown from Kent, a freshman at McNeese State University, Lake Charles, Louisiana, finished T39 with scores of 81, 84 and 78 for 243 in the Southland Conference Women's Championship at High Meadow Ranch Golf Club, Magnolia in Texas.
She finished 24 shots behind the winner by one, Sarah Brown (Central Arkansas) who had scores of 74, 76 and 69 for a three-over-par total; of 219 over the 6,258yd course.
Lamar (904) won the team event with McNeese State (946) finished eighth of 10.
