CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING ROUND
Feature of today's Renfrewshire women's county championship qualifying round at Cochrane Castle Golf Club was not one but
TWO holes in one.
Gillian Kyle (East Renfrewshire) had a hole in one at the ninth hole to be followed a little bit later by Sandra Littlejohn (Erskine) who holed her tee shot at the short 14th.
Gillian's ace helped her to qualify for the match-play stages with a round of 79 but Sandra failed to beat the limit qualifying score of 91.
Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm) did not have a hole in one but she is still the leading qualifier with a 72 for the match-play stages.
Title-holder Donna Jackson, playing over her home course as she seeks to extend her record total of county titles, was the third best qualifier with a 79 behind Briggs and Stephen.
Best net round and winner of the Peggy Clark Trophy was Iona Stephen with a net 71 off two of a handicap.
