PETERCULTER DEBUTANTE MEGAN
WINS SHIRE GIRLS' FIRST 2014 COMP
Peterculter's Megan Robb, making her debut in Aberdeenshire girls'
golf fixtures, won the opening Stableford competition of the season on the clifftops at misty Stonehaven Golf Club today
Playing off 25, Megan totalled 39 points and won by 3pt from Rachel Mathieson (Hazlehead) (32) with Carmen Griffiths (Aboyne) (18) third on 35pt.
Rachel was another of the new faces in action.
It's tough being a low handicapper in a Stableford competition which, most people agree, favours higher handicappers.
Even tougher for four-handicap Shannon McWilliam (Aboyne), last year's Scottish U14 girls champion.
She unwrapped a brand new Titleist golf ball on the first tee at Stonehaven - and drove it far and right, out of bounds over the clifftop. New ball, one hit - and LOST.
Shannon said she also lost another ball later on.
