The Scottish Golf Academy Winter Series Finalsd Day was played out over the Jubilee Course in St Andrews on Sunday, with Shannon McWilliam adding to her title collection with victory in the girls’ event.
The Aboyne player, pictured below with the trophy at St Andrews, claimed a notable success last year when she won the Loretto Scottish Girls’ Under-14 title at Fortrose and Rosemarkie.

On a cold, windy and tough day for scoring in Fife, McWilliam, who won't have her 15th birthday until August – coached by Andrew Locke at the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre – built on that triumph with a level par 74 over the Jubilee.
Claire Robertson (Carnoustie Ladies), who won the event 12 months, finished as runner-up after a 78, with Hazel MacGarvie (Strathaven) coming third on 82.
Charlotte Munro (Gullane) and Jennifer Saxton (Kinross) shared fourth spot.

In the boys’ event, Christopher Curran, pictured with the trophy at St Andrews, took the title, posting a level par 72. The Harburn player, coached by Colin Brooks, finished ahead of runner-up Aiden Husenne (Haggs Castle) and third-placed Jack Currie (Greenock), who both fired 74s.
Cameron Franssen (Inverness), Michael Lawrie (Deeside) and Isaac Alexander (Moray) were joint fourth after their 76s.
The Scottish Golf Academy Winter Series Finals followed three regional events held over the winter months, with 34 players competing, including eight girls.
St Andrews’ Lauren Whyte, a former Scottish U18 girls champion and past Winter Series winner and a product of the Scottish Golf Academy, was on hand to present the prizes on Sunday, provided by TaylorMade and adidasGolf.

+Editor would like to thank Julie McWilliam for the pictures of the winners.
