SCOTS TRIO HELP WARHAWKS WIN

TWO TEAM TITLES IN A ROW

CALHOUN, Louisiana: The University of Louisiana-Monroe men’s golf team finished in first place in both team and individual competition in the ULM/Wallace Jones Invitational, hosted by ULM, over a par-72 course of 6,822yd at the Southern Pines Country Club, Calhoun, Louisiana.
This was the second team win in a row for the Warhawks and first career individual win for Velten Meyer.
“The guys played very well today,” said head coach Walt Williams.
ULM finished under par in the final round of play, with a 4-under 284, to grab the top spot in a strong 14-team field with an 870. The Warhawks finished 11 strokes in front of second-placed Arkansas-Little Rock.
“UALR made a big run at us and caught us early in the round but our guys took the Trojans’ best shot and answered on the back nine and pulled away at the end for an 11-shot win,” said Williams.
Four of the five golfers on the ULM team finished individual competition in the top 10.
Velten Meyer led the way with a final score of 5-under 211 and the first place spot out of 70 competitors. Meyer was followed by Calum Hill,  a freshman from North Berwick who finished in a tie for third on 209, Mason Seaborn (220) in a tie for fifth and Greg Smail, a sophomore from Musselburgh, in a tie for ninth on 222. 
Charlie Macneal, a final-year student from Ayrshire, rounded out the group, posting a 226 and finishing in a tie for 18th.
“Velten was spectacular in getting his first individual win with a -5 total on a tough course and Calum was close behind in 3rd!” said Williams.
“We will take a day off to rest and then get back to work preparing for the Texas State Invitational,” said Williams. The Warhawks return to action in their final tournament before the Sun Belt Championships, the Texas State Invitational, scheduled to begin April 7th.

McPHEE MAKES TOP 20 AT PENSACOLA 

Paul McPhee from Perth, in his last month or two of his fourth and final year at Lynn University, Boca Raton in Florida, finished tied 16th in a field of 58 at the Argonaut Invitational college
tournament at Pensacola Country Club, Florida.
Over a par-72 course of 6,815yd, Paul, pictured right, had steady rounds of 73, 74 and 71 for a two-over-par aggregate of 218 - 15 shots behind the runaway winner (by eight strokes!) Derek Oland (Midwestern) who scored 62, 66 and 75 for 13-under 203.
Western Florida (848) won the team title ahead of North Alabama (866), Midwestern (868) and Lynn (871) in a field of 10 teams.

SHEEHAN'S TOP 25 FINISH AT MEMPHIS

South Alabama University's Matt Sheehan, a freshman from Gillingham, and Ryan Pope, a freshman from Exmouth, finished T24 and T53 respectively in a field of 84 at the Memphis Intercollegiate at Colonial Country Club, Memphis in Tennessee.

Over a long par-72 course (7,334yd) Matt, a former pupil of Millfield School and pictured left, had rounds of 77, 76 and 72 for nine-over-par 225 while Ryan shot 74, 80 and 80 for 234.
Winner by two shots was Haraldur Magnus (Louisiana Lafayette) with 75, 70 and 70 for one-under 215.
Memphis (875) won the team title ahead of runnersup South Alabama (889) in a field of 15 teams. 

WOOLLEY TIES FOR 2nd AT KOKOPELLA

Adam Woolley (John A Logan College, Carterville, Illinois), a freshman student from Collingham, Newark, Notts, tied for second place at the John A Logan College Spring Invitational at Kokopelli, Marion (March 30-31).

Over a par-71 course of 7,070yd, Adam, pictured right, shot 75-74 for 149 - two shots behind the winner, team-mate Connor Graves (74-73).
John A Logan College won the team event by 15 strokes. 


MITCH FARRER MAKES TOP 30 AT 
MIAMI BEACH
Mitch Farrer (Nova Southeastern), a senior year student from West Sussex, finished T30 in a field of 82 players at the Buccaneer Invitational at Normandy Shores Country Club, Miami Beach Florida (March 31-April 1).
Farrer, pictured left, scored 70, 72 and 76 for a five-over-par total of 218 over a par-71 course of 6,733yd.
He finished 18 shots behind the winner by six, Adam Svensson (Barry University) (69-61-70).
Quite a middle round there!
Barry (831) won the team title from Johnson and Wales-Florida (853) and Nova Southeastern (857) in a field of 14 teams. 
DALGLEISH JUST OUTSIDE TOP TEN AT 
PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA
Anglo-Scot Alasdair Dalgleish, a final-year student at Oklahoma Christian, finished 11th in a field of 33 players at the Troy Bledsoe Skyhawk Shootout over a par-72 course (6,896) at Classic Club, Palm Desert in California.
Alasdair, pictured right, from West Sussex with a host of relations in Scotland, shot 77, 82 and 78 for a total of 237 - 17 shots behind the winner by one, team-mate Sam Johnston (72-75-73).
Colorado Christian (908) won the team title ahead of Oklahoma Christian (915) in a field of six teams.
