BRONTE LAW AND CHARLOTTE THOMAS SHARING 28TH PLACE ON 74, SEVEN OFF THE PACE
DISAPPOINTING DAY FOR GB and I
CURTIS CUP GIRLS IN NCAA CH/SHIP
It was a disappointing first day for the four members of the GB and team for next month's Curtis Cup match when the curtain went up on the NCAA Women's Championship Tulsa Country Club, Oklahoma yesterday.
Three players are sharing the lead on 67, three under par for the 6194yd course - but they are Doris Chen (Southern California), Tonje Daffinrud (Denver) and Lauren Kim (Stanford).
The best of the GB and I team were Bronte Law (UCLA) and Charlotte Thomas (Washington), both on the 74 mark and sharing 28th place.
Stephanie Meadow (Alabama) had a 76 for T54 while Gemma Dryburgh (Tulane) had a nightmare round of 80 for T102 in a field of 126 players.
English student Hayley Davis (Baylor), playing as an individual, is T91 on 79.
Oklahoma (288) are leading the team event from UCLA (291) with Denver, Southern California and Arizona State sharing third place on 293.
Washington (299) are T8, Tulane (303) T13 and Alabama (305) T16 in a field of 29 teams.
