CALUM HILL FROM KINROSS LYING JOINT 13TH AT AUSTIN, TEXAS
MUSTANGS HAVE THREE-SHOT LEEWAY
TO MAKE UP OVER FINAL DAY
Western New Mexico University men's team go into the third and final day of the NCAA Division 2 W/South/Central Region Final only three shots behind the leaders CSU Monterey Bay with CSU Monterey Bay two shots behind the Mustangs in third place.
Harry Wetton, a freshman student from Bedford, was Western New Mexico's top second-round performer with a round of 70 for 144 which has him in joint 3rd place, one shot behind the co-leaders
Thomas Neve, a sophomore from Surry is T6 on 145 (70-75) and Calum Hill from Kinross, a sophomore strudent, is T13 on 146 (71-75)
But it is the fourth and fifth members of the Mustangs team that hold the key to the final-day outcome.
David Metz is back in T48 on 153 (80-73) while Ben Skinner, a sopho from Herts, is T90 on 161 (82-79).
A repeat 73 from Metz would come in handy but Skinner has to get closer to par for Western New Mexico to have a real chance of winning the team honour.
