GOOD NEWS FOR GB AND I AS ST LOUIS, MISSOURI MATCH APPROACHES

ALL HEADING FOR NCAA CH/SHIPS
All four US student members of the recently selected GB and I team for the Curtis Cup match at St Louis, Missouri from June 6 to 8 have a big golf date before that - the NCAA Division 1 women's championship at Tulsa, Oklahoma from May 20 to 23.
Stephanie Meadow (Alabama), Bronte Law (UCLA), Gemma Dryburgh (Tulane) and Charlotte Thomas (Washington) are all students at universities who finished in the leading eight at their regional tournaments over the past few days.
And, as team members, Stephanie, Bronte, Gemma and Charlotte, will be head for Tulsa.
Individually, Charlotte Thomas, Surrey-born but who grown up in Singapore, did best of the four at the Regionals.
She finished sixth at the West Regional over a par-72, 6252yd course at Tumble Creek GC, Suncadia Country Club in Washington State.
Charlotte shot ever-improving rounds of 74, 72 and 71 (best last round in the field) for a total of one-over-par 217.
She finished four shots behind the winner by two, Arizona State's Spanish player, Noemi Jimenez (67-74-72 for 213.
The eight teams who will go forward to the NCAA championships are:

At the NCAA Division 1 women's Central Regional tournament at Karsten Creek, Stillwater, Oklahoma, the top eight teams to advance to the
NCAA Championship were

902 Florida (beat Oklahoma State in play-off for last place)
Stephanie Meadow (Alabama) from Jordanstown, Northern Ireland, finished T10 in a field of 126 after being T3 overnight. She scored 73, 70 and 76 for 219 - 10 shots behind the winner by five, Wad Phaewchimplee (Kent State), wih scores of 65, 73 and 71 for seven-under 209.
Bronte Law (pictured) figured in the winning UCLA (California-Las Vegas) team but she herself managed only a share of 24th place on 224 with scores of 73, 74 and 77.
Another English-born player in the field was young Elizabeth Mallett (North Carolina), a former British girls championship finalist from Sutton Coldfield.
Elizabeth finished T73 on 234 with rounds of 77, 74 and 83.
