LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR EVENT HIT BY ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS
Turkish Airlines Ladies Open
Reduced to 54-hole Tournament
The
Turkish Airlines Ladies Open has been reduced to 54 holes due to
adverse weather conditions and a waterlogged course at National Golf
Club in Belek, Antalya.
At least 25mm of rain fell overnight Thursday which continued through Friday morning.
The second round has been delayed until Saturday and the same tee times will apply as for Friday.
There will be a cut to the leading 60 players and ties after 36 holes. The final 18 holes will be played on Sunday.
Tournament
Director Steve Kavanagh said: “This decision have been taken with the
forecast for heavy rain until mid-afternoon. The outlook for tomorrow is
for the occasional shower which will give the course ample time to
recover and the
green keepers to repair any damage to bunkers. Sunshine is forecast for
Sunday.”
