The popular Quaich amateur golf tournament at Hazlehead - which has not been staged for three or four years, is being revived by Golf Aberdeen, part of Sport Aberdeen, which is launching a new callander of events.
The Quaich tournament will be rebranded as the Aberdeen City Championship and it will be played over 36 holes, one round over both Hazelehad courses, on Saturday-Sunday, August 8 and 9.
It will be open to female amateurs, as well as men, as long as they have an official handicap from a club.
David Law, a former Hazlehead member who won the Quaich in 2007 and is now a tour professional, said:
"Having grown up playing at Hazlehead I'm delighted that Golf Aberdeen is introducing this prestigious title on such a great course. To become the Aberdeen City Champion would be an honour for any golfer."
