PETERCULTER PLAYER MAKES TOP 20 IN FLORIDA


DAISY-MAY KENNY FINISHES THIRD

AT LAKE JOVITA, FLORIDA

Rachel Polson from Peterculter, near Aberdeen and a third-year student at Florida Tech University, achieved a top-20 finish in the NCAA Division 2 Women's Super Regional final at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club, Dade City in Florida this week.
Rachel had rounds of 74, 78 and 75 for a joint 17th place finish on 227
in a field of 49 players.
She finished nine shots behind the joint winners, Ellen Chambers (Lynn University) (72-69-77) and Marie Coors (St Leo) (76-71-71).
Daisy-May Kenny (Western Florida), pictured right, a sophomore from Purley, finished third - on of her best performances of the US college season - only one stroke behind the leading pair. She had rounds of 70, 77 and 72 for 219.
Daisy-May will go forward as an individual to the NCAA Division 2 Championships at Rock Bardn Golf and Spa Club, Conover, North Carolina from May 14 to 17.  
A day after tieing for her worst round of the season with an 80, Lynn's Jessica Bradley, a third-year student from Bishops Nympton,  rallied to post a two-under par 70. 
Jessica had a first-round score of 72.  She finished seventh with a score of 222 to extend her string of consecutive top-10 finishes to 12 straight tournaments and take sole possession at No 1 for Lynn's career top-10 finishes with 24.

Jenna Birch (Armstrong Atlantic) finished T11 with three scores of 75 for 225.
Elizabeth Swallow (King University), a sopho from Berkshire, finished T24 on 231 with rounds of 80, 73 and 78.
Rachel Lewis (Nova Southeastern), a senior year student from Wales, finished T27 on 232 (78-77-77) and Aimee Paterson, a junior from Hampshire and a team-mate of Daisy-May Kenny at Western Florida, finished T44 in the field of 49 players. She had rounds of 82, 83 and 78 for 243.
Lynn (881) won the team title ahead of Barry (896) with Rollins (901) third, Florida Tech (906) fourth, Western Florida (923) fifth, St Leo (926) sixth, Nova Southeastern (931) seventh and Armstrong Atlantic (935) tied eighth with Flagler.
Lynn, Barry and Rollins advance to the NCAA Division 2 national championships.
