IRISH WOMEN’S OPEN AMATEUR STROKE-PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP at DOUGLAS GOLF CLUB

Saturday-Sunday, May 24-25

 

SECOND ROUND PLAY SUSPENDED UNTIL SUNDAY MORNING.

Persistent downpours during Saturday afternoon forced the suspension of play at the Irish Women’s Open Strokeplay at Douglas Golf Club, Cork.
England’s Lucy Goddard set the early pace,
signing for a two-under-par 71 in the morning before bravely fighting the elements to return an impressive one over par 74 in the afternoon.
Castletroy’s Chloe Ryan fired a sensational four under par 69 in the worst of the conditions to lie just one stroke off the pace with Gemma Clews (ENG) and Mary Doyle (The Heath) following closely behind.
Eight competitors will complete their round at 8am on Sunday morning and the full field will take to the course with a two-tee start commencing at 9.30am. 
The leaders are expected to tee off around 10.30am
