STUDENT FROM NORTH DEVON LEADING FIELD INDIVIDUALLY
JESSICA BRADLEY INSPIRING LYNN
TEAM TO THIRTEEN-STROKE LEAD
CONOVER, North Carolina -- The top-ranked Lynn University women's team from Boca Raton, Florida team has a 13-stroke lead heading into the final round of the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships at Rock Barn Golf and Spa.
Inspired by English student, Jessica Bradley from Bishops Nympton, North Devon, Lynn collectively shot 291 on the par-71, 5,928-yard course for its lowest round thus far.
Jessica Bradley, pictured, carded a 69 to sit atop the individual player board after shooting the lowest round of the day.
Lynn shot seven-over par as a team on the front nine holes to make the turn neck-and-neck with Barry University.
Bradley made three of her five birdies from the day on the front nine, going back-to-back on holes five and six.
Although Bradley played a team-best round to finish two-under par, the focus was on senior Irene Calvo who carded a 73 to improve 11 strokes from her second round score.
Lynn’s tournament leading 882 is the second best score in program history through 54 holes. Barry and Tarleton State both have a total score of 895 while Rollins (909) and Indianapolis (913) round out the top-5 teams. Bradley’s 217 is her best score through 54-holes to date as she edges Central Oklahoma’s Taylor Neidy and Tarleton State’s Jessica Pickwick by one shot. A victory by Bradley would be her fourth USA career win and make her the all-time leader in tournament victories at Lynn.
Lynn has won four national titles in program history, the most recent in 2013 when the Fighting Knights dethroned four-time defending national champion Nova Southeastern by three strokes.
