Aberdeenshire did not play their youngest-ever  county champion Shannon McWilliam, pictured, who also recently won the Scottish schoolgirls title, in the final set of singles against Angus in the North Division inter-county team championship at Pitlochry today.
County captain Margaret Parkinson explains the reasons for Shannon's omission from the line-up:
"Shannon didn't play in the afternoon as her knees, which had been bothering her all weekend, were really painful and she was struggling towards the end of the morning matches.
"As she is playing in the Nick Faldo series at Panmure tomorrow and then she is off to Slovakia with the Scottish team, we didn't want to aggravate the situation further and risk her not being able to play in those events.
"It was unfortunate but we felt we had to protect Shannon from potentially serious injury at this early stage of her golfing career."

Aboyne Golf Club member McWilliam had four straight wins over Saturday and Sunday's foursomes and singles ties but lost her foursomes match this morning.
