Royal
Tarlair are hosting their annual four-day women's open tournament this year from
Monday to Thursday, August 4 to 7.
Royal Tarlair is a par 71 course in
Macduff on the Banffshire coast. It has a famous 13th hole, the par 3
“Clivet”
The competition has been running since 1978 and multiple past
champions include Meg Sievwright, Laura McLardy, Donna Pocock, Pat
Shepherd and Rose Anderson.
The defending scratch champion this year
is Lesley Gibb of West Lothian, who also won the title
in 2008 and 2009.
All players compete in the two
qualifying rounds on Monday and Tuesday, with the top scratch, low
handicap and high handicap players progressing into the match play. For
those not lucky enough to qualify, there is a consolation round on
Wednesday followed
by a two-ball competition on Thursday.
