SCOTLAND UNLIKELY TO MAKE TOP EURO WOMEN'S FLIGHT

EILIDH BRIGGS ONLY SCOT TO SHINE

 IN SLOVENIA WITH SUB-PAR 70

Scotland, lying 14th after the first of two stroke-play qualifying rounds, are unlikely to make the top eight who will contest the championship flight in the European women's amateur team golf championship at Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Eilidh Briggs, pictured,  had four birdies in a one-under-par 70 to be joint 16th but the rest of the Scots disappointed.
New champion Gabrielle MacDonald and Curtis Cup player Gemma Dryburgh both shot 74s to be joint 59th.
Connie Jaffrey had a 75, Alyson McKechin a 76 and Jess Meek a 77.
