ANNABEL (13) WINS IRISH GIRLS' TITLE

Annabel Wilson (Lurgan), only 13 years of age, beat the Irish women's champion, Mary Doyle (The Heath) by 4 and 3 in the final to become one of the youngest ever Irish Under-18 girls (close) champions at Shannon Golf Club today.
Wilson beat the defending champion, Julie McCarthy and last year's beaten finalist and Junior Vagliano Trophy player Olivia Mehaffrey on Friday and followed that up by beating 17-year-old Doyle in the championship match for the Blake Cup.
Wilson was roughly two under par for the holes played in the final. She was two up after five and three up at the turn and four up on the 12th tee.
The outstanding performance has earned Annabel a first international honour in the Ireland team for the girls home internationals at Donabate. Scroll down to see full team.

Meadhbh Doyle (Portarlington) beat the  holder of the Pat Fletcher Cup, Caitriona Griffin (Killarney), in the Plate Final.
Caitriona came back from three down to square the match but Meadhbh managed to secure the win at the first extra hole.
