ONE ROUND TO GO IN SCOTTISH UNDER-21 GIRLS' STROKE PLAY

CLYBURN LEADS MEEK AFTER LATE SWING
IN HER FAVOUR

Lincolnshire's India Clyburn, pictured, is the new leader of the Scottish Under-21 girls' open amateur stroke-play golf championship at Alloa Golf Club.
She was trailing defending champion Jess Meek until there was a two-stroke swing in the Woodhall Spa player's favour when she birdied the long 17th and her Carnoustie Ladies playing partner bogeyed it.
Clyburn is on six-under-par 142 after rounds of 72 and 70.
With one round to go, the younger sister of Ladies European Tour professional Holly Clyburn, leads Meek, who has won the St Rule Trophy at St Andrews this season, by one shot. Meek has scored 71 and 72 over the "generous" par-74 course.
Generous in that the par-5s are all reachable in two shots as Clyburn underlined by birdieing all five of them - the second, fifth, ninth, 16th and 17th after bogeying the first hole. .
Meek birdied the third.l, long ninth and 10th but dropped her only shot at the 17th.
Overnight leader Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) shot a 75 for 145 and
 has dropped back into a share of third place with the Scottish champion, Gabrielle MacDonald (Craigielaw) who has scores of 73 and 72.
There is no cut in this 54-hole tournament.
