WALKER BEATS BATTY IN COUNTY FINAL CLASH OF TOP SEEDS

RACHEL PLAYS OUTSTANDING GOLF IN

FINAL OF DUMFRIESSHIRE CH/SHIP

 Rachel Walker (Dumfries and County), the top seed, won the Dumfriesshire women's championship at Powfoot GC.

She beat the No 2 qualifier, Gemma Batty (Powfoot) by 4 and 3 with some outstanding golfer. Walker was six under par for the 15 holes played and Gemma was under par too at the finish.

In the stroke-play qualifying competition, Rachel shot 72-73 for 145 and Gemma 156 (74-82).
