ALISON BARTLETT'S DANDY DOUBLE

Alison Bartlett is a bit embarrassed when described as the best senior lady golfer in Scotland, having won both the Scottish senior stroke-play and match-play titles over four days at Elgin Golf Club this week.
She is the only player, apart from Pamela Williamson (Baberton) to have won both the titles in the same week. Pamela did it in 2005 which was the first year of the senior's match-play championship.
"It's just been my week. No more than that," said modest Alison.
"I had a lovely week, felt comfortable, drove well and also putted well, which was probably the key.
Elgin Golf Club did us proud all week, warm welcome, very fair but challenging course, excellent paced but tricky greens, couldn't have been better."
The Royal Dornoch Golf Club member and Northern Counties LGA secretary was never headed in winning the 36-hole seniors' stroke-play title for the second time in three years on Tuesday and Wednesday.
And today Alison completed an impressive run in the match-play tournament with a 3 and 1 win over Aex Glennie (Kilmarnock Barassie) in the 18 hole final.
Two up after seven but pulled back to a one-hole lead when Alex won the seventh, Alison conjured an eagle 3 at the 10th (404yd) to go two up again.
Glennie won the 14th to reduce the deficit to one but wins at the 15th and 17th secured victory for Bartlett by 3 and 1.
In the semi-finals, Bartlett was given a stern fight by Kathleen Sutherland (Royal Montrose) before winning by one hole.
All square with two to play, the Northern Counties golfer won the 17th in par and the 18th was halved.
In the other semi-final, Glennie was a 2 and 1 winner over Fiona De Vries (St Rule). Two down after three holes, back-to-back birdies at the fifth and sixth and more wins at the seventh and eighth put Glennie in control.
Rita Dee from Kingsknowe Golf Club defeated Margot Barr (Nairn) 4 and 3 in the handicap championship final. Both players are 11-handicappers.
In the semi-finals, Margot beat Marion Stewart (Kilmacolm) (12) by 6 and 5, while Rita beat Emma Wilson (Elie and Earlsferry) (9) by 2 and 1.
