SCOTS GIRL CHAMPION LEADS BY 5

 IN  GIRLS' CHAMPIONSHIP IN USA

Germany-based club golf professional's daughter Fiona Liddell, recent winner of the Scottish Under-18 girls' match-play championship, is leading by five strokes at the halfway stage of the Optimist International girls championship - one of the biggest and most prestigious junior golf events in America - at PGA National Resort and Spa, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Fiona has shot rounds of 73 and 69 for a two-under-par tally of 142.

Her nearest challenger going into the third round was Ariadna Fonseca from Caracas, Venezuela with 147 (73-74).
