SHANNON POSTS A 75 FOR TOP 15

Electrical storms in the area forced a suspension of play before the girls could complete their first rounds in the European Young Masters golf tournament at Hamburg Golf club today (Thursday).

Shannon McWilliam (Aboyne) had played 11 holes and was four over par when play was halted - and not restarted until the evening 
Shannon completed a 75 to be joint 14th behind the German leader, Alexandra Forsterling who posted a 67 for a two-shot lead.

Hazel MacGarvie (Troon Ladies) was six over par for the 12 holes she played before the stoppage. After play resumed, Hazel had an 80 for joint 43rd position.

The boys' field, who were out first, were able to complete their first round.l

Scots Robert Watson (78) and Matthew McCulloch (79) are well behind the German pacemaker's 65.
