SWEDISH FORMER STIRLING STUDENT WINS $2,000 PRIZE
MARIA HJORTH SETS THREE-ROUND
RECORD ON FLORIDA MINI-TOUR
Sweden's Maria Hjorth, at one time a student at Stirling University, had set a 54-hole scoring record on the Suncoast Ladies Professional Tour in Florida.
Maria, who has played on the LPGA Tour for many years, won the $2,000 first prize at this week's event with a 20-under-par aggregate of 199. Her rounds were 66, 66 and 67 over a par-73 course at Eagle Creek Golf Club, near Orlando.
She won by 13 strokes from runner-up Chriswtina Miller (73-71-68) who earned $1,000 for her 212 total.
Third was Brandi Rodriguez with scores of 70, 70 and 73 for 213 for which she received $700.
